AQA A-Level Chemistry
AS Level
- Paper 1 is Inorganic and Physical Chemistry
- Paper 2 is Organic and Physical Chemistry
Paper 1 and paper 2 are both a total of 80 marks, each makes up 50% of the AS grade. There are 65 marks of short and long answer questions and 15 marks of multiple choice questions
A-Level

Paper 1 and paper 2 are both a total of 105 marks, each paper makes up 35% of the A-level grade. There will be 105 marks from short and long answer questions
Paper 3 is worth 90 marks making up 30% of the A-level. There will be 40 marks of questions on practical techniques and data analysis, 20 marks of questions testing across the specification followed by 30 marks of multiple choice questions
OCR-A A-Level Chemistry
AS Level

Paper 1 and paper 2 are both a total of 70 marks, each makes up 50% of the AS grade. On paper 1 section A is 20 multiple choice questions and section B is short answer and extended response questions.
A-Level
- Paper 1 is Periodic table, elements and physical chemistry
- Paper 2 is Synthesis and analytical techniques
- Paper 3 is Unified Chemistry
Paper 1 and paper 2 are both a total of 100 marks, each paper makes up 37% of the A-level grade. Section A is 15 multiple choice questions and section B is short answer and extended response questions.
Paper 3 is worth 70 marks making up 26% of the A-level. There are range of question styles including short answer, calculations and extended response.
Edexcel A-Level Chemistry
AS Level

Paper 3 is worth 120 marks making up 40% of the A-level. There will be 40 marks of questions on practical techniques and data analysis. There will be long and short answer questions, calculations and extended response.
Cambridge International A-Level Chemistry
AS Level

- Paper 3 is 40 marks on practical skills
Paper 1 to paper 3 are based on the AS content.
